Lloyd B. MorganLloyd B. Morgan
Interim Chief Executive

Lloyd B. Morgan was appointed ABMS Interim Chief Executive by the ABMS Executive Committee in February 2012. His deep knowledge of and commitment to ABMS’ work will provide critical continuity during the completion of the search process for a new ABMS President and CEO.

Morgan was among the first Public Members on the ABMS Board of Directors, and served in this capacity from 2001-2011. An active participant in the health care industry since 1975, Morgan played a lead role in engaging the public more fully and strengthening the role of consumers and patients in physician accountability.

Morgan retired as a Senior Partner with Arthur Andersen in 2000, after a 38-year career that included leadership positions in his firm’s global Health Care Practice. In this role, Morgan directed strategic and business planning projects for major Academic Health Centers, hospitals and physician practices in the Midwest. Additionally he represented Arthur Andersen in national and international health care organizations.

Morgan’s Andersen years included a three-year European assignment and a special focus on the managed care industry segment; he was a member of the team which authored “The Future of Healthcare” delphi studies in 1984, 1987 and 1991.

Morgan currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Northwestern Medical Faculty Foundation in Chicago and the Duke University Health System in Durham, North Carolina.

Morgan did his undergraduate work at Northwestern University and received an MBA from its Kellogg School of Management in 1963. He is a Certified Public Accountant.
