Lori A. Porter, MBA, RD, CAE Program Director of Professional Standards
Lori A. Porter joined the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) in 2010 as the program director for professional standards. She is responsible for providing leadership and project management direction for all activities related to the professional standards program.
Porter has ten years of health association management experience and has been a registered dietitian for over 20 years. Prior to joining ABMS, she was director of the educational content development team for the American Association of Diabetes Educators, where she was responsible for the research, development and direction for new programs, products and services in diabetes education as well as maintaining the associations accreditation status with several accrediting bodies. Previously, she was director of practice at the American Dietetic Association.
Porter is the recipient of numerous awards including the Association Forum of Chicagoland’s 2007 Association Professional Achievement Award. She is also a Certified Association Executive and a graduate of the United States Chamber of Commerce Institute for Organization Management.
Porter received her master’s in business administration from the Keller Graduate School of Management at Devry University, and her bachelor’s of science degree in dietetics and nutrition from Michigan State University. She completed her dietetic internship at Indiana University Medical Center. |
