ABMS Appoints Lisa E. Wasserman as Chief Financial Officer
CHICAGO – Dec. 16, 2011 – The American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the organization overseeing the certification of physician specialists in the United States, has appointed Lisa E. Wasserman as Chief Financial Officer. In this role, she will oversee finance and accounting, serve as both a financial and strategic business advisor to the organization and contribute actively to the evolution and execution of the organization’s strategic business plans.

Weiss, MD, ABMS President and CEO. “Her ability to make effective business decisions while fostering fiscal responsibility and develop long-range and strategic plans will contribute to ABMS’ growth and success.”
Ms. Wasserman has over 20 years experience as a finance and accounting leader and strategic business partner in a variety of industries, including Big Four public accounting and non-profit. She most recently worked as a member of the senior management team at Appraisal Institute in Chicago, an international professional membership organization for real estate appraisers with over 26,000 members. Ms. Wasserman held the position of Chief Administrative Officer/Chief Financial Officer, with oversight of the Finance, Administration and IS departments. In this position, she served as a key member of the leadership team and led all departments in establishing measurements and reports for key performance indicators.
Ms. Wasserman received her accounting degree from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana, and is a CPA.
