ABMS Conference

ABMS Conference gathers physician executives, professional staff, and health care professionals from across the Member Boards Community to share the latest innovations in ABMS Board Certification and assessment. Numerous topics are organized into separate educational tracks targeting specific attendee groups. A poster session showcases best practices in quality improvement and continuing certification.

Held annually in September, ABMS Conference lets you connect with your peers in the health care field, including these areas of expertise:

  • Board community and health care professionals from the fields of learning and assessment
  • Board Certification and continuing certification
  • Quality improvement, patient safety, and research
  • Public policy and communications

2017 Conference

Nearly 500 health care professionals met in Chicago on September 26–29. ABMS Conference 2017 incorporated the QI Forum, adding quality/practice improvement topics to the agenda and expanding the networking opportunities for all attendees. The Conference featured more than 60 sessions as well as 60 posters in these subject areas:  Continuing Certification, Initial Certification and Health Policy Research, and Patient Safety and Improvement in Medical Practice. View presentations and posters from ABMS Conference 2017.

2016 Conference

ABMS Conference 2016 was held on September 26–28 in Cleveland, OH, and focused on the concepts of engagement, collaboration, and innovation. More than 300 guests from ABMS Member Boards, Associate Members, and other organizations with interests in the areas of continuing certification, quality improvement, patient safety, policy, and research were in attendance as speakers, sponsors, poster presenters, and attendees. View presentations and posters from ABMS Conference 2016.

2015 Conference

ABMS Conference 2015 was held on September 9–11 in Chicago. Approximately 250 participants from ABMS Member Boards, Associate Members, specialty societies, and other interested stakeholders attended. Sessions were offered along five tracks: Operations, Initial Certification, Exam Development and Administration, MOC, and External Relations/Policy and Research.

2014 Conference

More than 250 people attended the ABMS Conference 2014 at which nearly 90 presenters across four professional educational tracks discussed innovations in Board Certification as well as environmental issues and trends impacting physician specialty certification now and in the future. Other Conference highlights included a poster session showcasing more than 20 best practices in MOC, and numerous networking opportunities for representatives from Member Boards and Associate Members, as well as other attendees. View presentations and posters from ABMS Conference 2014.
