In 2017, the AAMC will be transitioning to a new technical platform and updating its suite of online products and services. As a result, AAMC will no longer provide the Continuing Education and MOC Directories as a service offering, effective April 1, 2017.

PQRS Reporting Update

PQRS (formerly PQRI) was developed by CMS in 2007 as a voluntary pay-for-reporting program offering a financial incentive to physicians and other eligible professionals who report data on quality measures for covered services furnished to Medicare beneficiaries. For the current reporting period (CY 2016) there is no positive reporting incentive, but eligible diplomates who do not satisfactorily report data in 2016 will incur a 2% payment penalty in 2018.

White House Symposium Briefing Session on Addiction

On Tuesday, October 25, 2016, the White House hosted its second symposium briefing session on addiction, titled “Medicine Responds to Addiction II.” The symposium brought together federal partners and national leaders from medical schools, residency, and fellowship programs to advance addiction medicine education and training.
