American Board of Allergy and Immunology (abai.org)

  • One (1) practice assessment/quality improvement activity every 5 years.

American Board of Anesthesiology (theaba.org)

  • 25 points of practice assessment/quality improvement activities every 5 years.

American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery (abcrs.org)

  • Ongoing participation in a local, regional or national outcomes registry or quality assessment program every 5 years.

American Board of Dermatology (abderm.org)

  • One (1) practice assessment/quality improvement activity every 5 years.

American Board of Emergency Medicine (abem.org)

  • One (1) quality improvement activity every 5 years

American Board of Family Medicine (theabfm.org)

  • One (1) Improvement in Medical Practice module every 3 years

American Board of Internal Medicine (abim.org)

  • Optional; incentive for participation in approved activities.

American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics (abmgg.org)

  • One (1) Improvement in Medical Practice module every 3 years.

American Board of Neurological Surgery (abns.org)

  • Chief of Staff questionnaire to confirm regular Morbidity and Mortality conference attendance.

American Board of Nuclear Medicine (abnm.org)

  • Three practice performance assessments per MOC cycle, with yearly engagement requirements.

American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (abog.org)

  • Yearly participation in an Improvement in Medical Practice activity.

American Board of Ophthalmology (abop.org)

  • Practice improvement activities, including registry-based option.

American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery (abos.org)

  • Case List review, Professional Peer review, Registry participation.

American Board of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery (aboto.org)

  • Under Development.

American Board of Pathology (abpath.org)

  • Yearly evidence of:
    • Laboratory Accreditation (if applicable)
    • Laboratory Quality Assurance
    • One practice assessment/quality improvement activity

American Board of Pediatrics (abp.org)

  • Obtaining a minimum of 40 Improvement in Medical Practice points every 5 years.

American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (abpmr.org)

  • One (1) practice assessment/quality improvement activity every 5 years.

American Board of Plastic Surgery (abplasticsurgery.org)

  • Complete one Practice Assessment Module (based on 10 tracer cases for one procedure) twice in 10 years.

American Board of Preventive Medicine (theabpm.org)

  • One (1) Improvement in Medical Practice activity every 5 years (2 per ten-year cycle); Clinical Informatics diplomates must complete 3 per ten-year cycle.

American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (abpn.com)

  • One (1) practice assessment/quality improvement activity every 3 years.

  • One (1) Practice Quality Improvement (PQI) Project or Participatory Activity every 3 years.

  • Required participation in a local, regional or national outcomes registry or quality assessment program.

  • One (1) practice assessment/quality improvement activity every 5 years.

American Board of Urology (abu.org)

  • Completion of a Practice Assessment Protocol (PAP) every 2 years; Case log review.
