Ashley M. Tomisek

Associate Vice President, Advocacy and Policy
Ashley Tomisek joined the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) in 2025 and is responsible for supporting strategic partnerships and representing the ABMS Community with key stakeholders, including hospital leaders, state medical boards, payers, policymakers, legislators, and patient advocates. She also leads the implementation of the ABMS patient engagement strategy, specifically developing and supporting the Patient and Family Advisory Council.
Ms. Tomisek brings more than 15 years of experience in managing and leading multiple federal contracts, including learning systems development, stakeholder engagement, policy assessment and implementation, program evaluation, and health care payment strategies.
Previously, Ms. Tomisek spent seven years at Booz Allen Hamilton, where she managed programs across the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and the Veterans Health Administration to impact care delivery transformation and implement quality and process improvements. She managed client relationships, stakeholder engagement, contract compliance, staff performance, subcontracts, deliverable development and quality, and reporting across multiple efforts. This included the CMS Comprehensive Primary Care Plus and Oncology Care Model learning systems.
Before joining Booz Allen Hamilton, Ms. Tomisek worked at The Lewin Group, where she served in multiple roles, including as Program Manager for the CMS Transforming Clinical Practice Initiative (TCPI) learning contract. This effort aimed to prepare 140,000 primary and specialty care clinicians to participate in value-based care efforts. She also supported stakeholder engagement across TCPI Practice Transformation Networks and Support and Alignment Networks, which included national and regional professional associations such as the American Medical Association, the American Board of Family Medicine, and the American College of Physicians.
Ms. Tomisek earned a master’s degree in Sociology and a Women’s & Gender Studies Certificate from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech). She holds a Graduate Certificate in Gerontology from the University of South Florida and a Bachelor of Science in Sociology from Virginia Tech.
