National Policy Forum Report Now Available
A report entitled Future of Practice: Implications for the ABMS Boards Certification System offering insights and opportunities for the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) Member Boards Community based on the presentations given at the ABMS’ fourth annual National Policy Forum is now available. The Forum, which brought together ABMS Member Board leaders and national experts to discuss the future of medical practice and medical specialty certification, was held on April 25, 2014 in Washington, DC. Among the panel of experts whose presentations are synopsized in the report are George Thibault, MD, President and CEO of the Josiah Macy Jr. Foundation; Erin Fraher, PhD, Director of the Program on Health Workforce Research and Policy at the University of North Carolina; Ed Salsberg, faculty at the George Washington University School of Public Health; David Pryor, MD, Executive Vice President, Ascension; Lewis Sandy, MD, Executive Vice President for Clinical Advancement, UnitedHealth Group; and Bernard Rosof, MD, Professor of Medicine at the Hofstra North Shore-LIJ School of Medicine as well as ABMS Member Board leaders R.
