ABMS Advisory Body on Specialty Board Development Invites Third-Party Comments

The ABMS Advisory Body on Specialty Board Development (Advisory Body), which is charged with receiving and evaluating applications for approval of new specialty boards for membership in the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), invites comments from third parties regarding an application from the American Board of Cardiovascular Medicine.    

The Advisory Body endorses the value of obtaining input from a wide range of stakeholders. Therefore, as a part of this evaluation process, the Advisory Body will accept written third-party comments to inform deliberation and review via an online submission form. Comments will be accepted from ABMS’ existing Member Boards; ABMS Associate Members; specialty and state medical societies; patient and consumer advocacy groups; hospitals and health systems; insurers; the public; and any other relevant stakeholders. Anonymous comments will not be accepted.

Comments received will be shared with the Advisory Body as well as with the Applicant Board.
