UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital
CHICAGO – November 16, 2021—The American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) has announced that University Hospitals (UH) Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital in Cleveland has joined the ABMS Portfolio ProgramTM. UH Rainbow physicians who are board certified by one or more of the 18 ABMS Member Boards participating in the Portfolio Program can earn Continuing Certification (MOC Part IV) credit for their involvement in quality improvement (QI) activities. In addition, physician assistants (PAs) can earn maintenance of certification credit from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) for their participation in QI activities submitted through the ABMS Portfolio Program.
“Becoming an ABMS Portfolio Program Sponsor will make it easier than ever for UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital to support our physicians as they work on QI and practice improvement activities to benefit our patients,” said Claudia Hoyen, MD, Director of Pediatric Infection Control and Innovation, UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital. “Thanks to the Portfolio Program, our physicians will be able to earn continuing certification credit for the QI and practice improvement activities work they already perform each day, all with a minimum amount of paperwork.”
